Camping on the city beach

The night between 10th and 11th August is something special for people who has grown and lived here in this zone of Sicily. We all celebrate this night, St Lorenzo, and go camping to our main beaches. So, my friends and I packed some our stuff (money, drinks, cigarettes, swim-suits, sweatshirts) and went to Black Stones Beach, the most crowded beach in the area, cause of its saharian dunes (despite its name) and its clean sea. We spent the night there, swimming in the dark, walking among the tents, drinking some Caipiroskas. About them, the barman was a bit distract or blissfully happy, cause he packed our glasses with pure vodka end a drop of fruit juice, just a little to make it colourful. So, when our glasses were empty and the music made all the people around dance, we just looked, smelt and sounded like a nice company of gone mad screaming monkeys....sob. Many drinks and chats later, we were a little tired, sitting on the sand and looking at the sunrise. Wow. Just poetic.
This is me, back home in the morning, after a small warm croissant.
